2012 School Trustee Election

The terms for Place 1, currently held by Tony Owens and Place 2,currently held by Paige Ring expire this year. The Trustee Election will be held on May 12, 2012. Trustees are elected for three-year terms.

School Trustee Candidate Qualifications:

- 18 years of age or older

- Citizen of the U.S.

- Resident of Texas for 12 months

- Never been convicted of a felony on which pardon has not been granted

- Resident of EM-S ISD for six months

- Has not been found mentally incompetent by court action

- Registered voter of district at least 30 days prior to election date

Important Dates:

February 4, 2012 | First day for candidate to file an application for a place on the ballot

March 5, 2012 | Deadline for candidate to file an application for a place on the ballot

May 12, 2012 | Election day

Procedures to file for Candidacy:

The following forms must be completed, notarized and filed with Chief Financial Officer James Schiele by 5:00pm on March 5.

1.  Application for a place on the ballot

2.  Appointment for Campaign Treasurer (Form CTA)

The forms are available at the office of the Chief Financial Officer, located with the EM-S ISD Administration complex, 1200 Old Decatur Road, Building 6, Fort Worth, TX 76179, or can be downloaded from the Texas Secretary of State website: http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/
