EMS ISD leaders honored by Saginaw Area Chamber of Commerce
Congratulations to Dr. Jim Chadwell, Superintendent, and Kirk Murdock, Director of Technology, for being honored for their contributions to the community and to public education by the Saginaw Area Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Chadwell received the Citizen of the Year Award and Murdock was recognized with the Educator of the Year Award. The awards were announced Friday, February 17, during the Chamber’s annual awards banquet in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
“We are proud that these two educators have received recognition
for their dedication to our district and our community,” said Dr. Linda Parker,
Deputy Superintendent. “Both Dr. Chadwell and Mr. Murdock are visionary leaders
who are committed to students and staff and to meeting their needs for success.
They lead with integrity and work daily to create an environment for excellence.
They each are a great asset to the great EMS ISD community.”
The Citizen of the Year award is a community-wide recognition
of an individual whose influence and activities are evident throughout all
portions of the Saginaw community. The award recognizes accomplishments in
business, civic, neighborhood, religious, philanthropic, family, and other
areas of impact on the community. Pictured left is Tasha Perez, Executive Director of the Chamber, presenting the award to Dr. Chadwell.
The Educator of the Year is awarded annually to a teacher
or administrator working in education in the Saginaw community. In addition to
years of service as an educator, the award recognizes professional accomplishments,
innovative teaching practices, positive impact on students and colleagues, awards
and honors received, and dedication to the education profession. Community
service and other activities outside of their daily role also are considered. Pictured left is Dr. Chadwell presenting the award to Murdock.
Congratulations, Dr. Chadwell and Mr. Murdock! #EMSproud
